John, California ZEV mandate includes PHEV’s. PHEVs must have an all-electric range of at least 50 miles under real-world driving conditions. In addition, automakers will be allowed to meet no more than 20% of their overall ZEV requirement with PHEVs.

Reading about GM and FORD being #5 and 6 these days is no surprise. GM leadership is and was lacking, to say the least, for decades. They paid no attention to foreign cars when they made their entrance here. How do you let a foreign company onto your playground and not pay attention to what they’re doing both in vehicles and warranty?? GM building “cheap” vehicles ,charging top dollar and expecting to get away scot free. I don’t wonder why they’ve fallen from #1. Not as many people “Seeing the USA in a CHEVROLET” THESE DAYS. SAD.

What is interesting to me about Musk and Trump, (and this is no political statement) is that even though the two have big money, Trump has made it clear that he has no intention or interest in keeping the EV incentives and what folks have call EV mandates and put in place by the Biden administration, the very thing that put Musk/Tesla where it sis today. It seems that Trump, to get Musk/Tesla supporters and loyalists to follow Trump, has suggested a place for Musk in his administration. I’m not making a statement for or against whatever relationship they have before or after the election, but should Trump win the election, what Trump does could torpedo his EV auto business, but Musk could land on his feet with Trumps good will and a new job, but what will happen to his EV auto business and the employees that work for him?
