Question for the Panel. How much of the costs in EV’s comes from Federal Regulations?

I don’t understand why Saturn was a big mistake. The owners were so loyal 10,000 owners showed up for homecoming. I do remember a conversation where we talked about how GM starved the brand of product. Why was it a sinkhole?
Lambo2015 says
Saturn wasn’t a mistake by conception. It was execution. They started out with a great philosophy that just ended up being adopted by all of GM. Then they neglected Saturn. It was a grape that died on the vine.
So much for getting Bob to rate the CEOs of GM, Ford and Stellantis. Too much respect to criticize them. Class act Bob I didn’t think he would say much but was why I tuned in.
John McElroy says
Kate, I completely agree with you. 80% of Saturn buyers came from import brands, and when Saturn went away, so did those buyers.

Was a great program, as usual. A future program topic suggestion: explore the comparative automotive industry legal environments in China vs. the U.S. How much time is spent/lost here simply exploring and analyzing potential safety, emissions, option content, issues that may not have nearly as much priority in China? GM’s ignition switch disaster, for example, is most likely still affecting its internal processes lest it get caught speeding, so to speak, and potentially lose everything.
